Q102 / Lighthouse Ltd. Reunion

The first (and probably last) Q102 - Lighthouse Ltd. reunion is now being planned. For those of us old enough to remember, Lighthouse Ltd. was the nightclub on Vine Street in Clifton where in the late 70's, every Monday night was Q102 night. And while Q became the dominant station in Cincinnati in the late 70's, Lighthouse was the place we all partied. So some former Lighthouse staff and old (and I mean OLD) Q jocks are putting together a reunion.. in November in Cincinnati.

If you worked at Q102 in the 70's and early 80's, worked at Lighthouse at the same time, or even if you were a Q listener and a Lighthouse patron and would like to hang out and remember the good times, get on the list now.

Send an email to [email protected] with your contact information. Thanks

Q102 / Lighthouse Ltd. Reunion Committee

Yea, get there early. You're sharing food with the Star Trek geeks in the back room.

Well. onegreatplace, you certainly aren't invited..

Anybody know how to get in touch with...

Doug Coffey - pouring out of your radio
Wayne Greenberg
P Michael Griffin - Pete Leighton
Bruce Ryan - last I heard he was living in Cleveland

More later..

Hey Mark, as of a month ago?,,,Pete is selling and teaching guitar at Sam Ash in the Tri County area. You might be able to get a clue on Bruce by calling the Cleveland office of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.

I remember those days....I was too young to go to the Lighthouse. But listening to Q in those days was a lot of fun..not to mention that it pissed off my parents. ;D BTW, it was an honor for me to have JC McCoy as an instructor at CSB in Cincinnati in 1986.

Hey, I ran the board a few times when we did remotes from the Lighthouse. Does that count? I'll run the board for the reunion if I have to just to get in the door.

Dave, the school was on Montgomery rd. near Galbraith, right? Man that was back in the day when the Q was on fire!

What year did Lighthouse change to Burgundy's? Wasn't the main competitor to Lighthouse Dixie Electric Factory?

No. Mark S. will not be there. I just spoke with him. He's going to be traveling during this time period and therefore, won't be able to make it. Mark Elliott has been told. I'm almost positive Pat Barry will be making a cameo.

I heard Mark Hubbard, Mike Kinney, and Jim Bryant were attending as well.

Here's a question for you-- are groupies invited?? I was an fake-ID packing high school senior when you were having your bachelor party at the Light, Mark. My girlfriends and I ended up driving you home (to Hawaiian Terrace apts., if I'm not mistaken...) after your buds left you there. Ring any bells?

Believe it or not, I'm in radio now myself. I guess I should give you some credit for giving some glamour to radio. Geez, it makes me laugh to think of that now! Glamourous radio...NOT!

GOSH! I do remember that night!?! Kinda..

I was.. how do you say it.. WASTED that night. Where are you working? Are you on the air? Are you any good?

Mark didn't mean to say "are you good" he meant to say "was it good?"?

Cary, can you define a "good" groupie? lol..maybe this should be a new thread.

A good groupie is...

1) Of legal age.
2) Doesn't break the lens when you try to take her picture.
3) Actually makes you believe you are the only DJ she's ever called...even though that is obviously not the case!

I have run into exactly one person who fit that definition in 34 years of answering request lines.
