Q102!! WOW!!

Has anybody tuned in to Q at all this weekend? They are sounding very rhythmic just like Movin'. It's their "Party Weekend" but still I have heard a big change. They have new jingles and their mix sounds very good. Sexyback- Let Me Clear My Throat- Outkast's The Way You Move?? WOW! I have listened all weekend and I think they did this to test the Movin' format and to steal some of KISS's weekend skew.

Me too. They're doing Studio 102 right now and it is so rhythmic. Jagged Edge-Max-A-Million-Dr. Dre- Mark Morrison... PLUS they dropped the 90's And Now out the legal id. I feel a CHR switch.

I feel a switch too but we have to wait till monday till we see if they have switched or the 90 and now slogan comes back. I dont think they should have ever said 90s and now since they played 80's music allso it should have been 80's, 90's and now.

Well, then they would sound even more HOT-AC then they do already during the day. Well, I've heard the LEGAL ID before Studio 102 and 90's And Now is gone. Can you say... CC watch out.. Q's going CHR. I am loving every bit of this.

Yeah. Comes a little after the TOH. Playing AKON & EMINEM- SMACK THAT now. WOW. Heavy rhythmic song. I bet Jeff & Jen are crying right now. They miss their "Superchik & Blue October".

I thought thats what it ment but had to make sure. I love the old 90's dance music they are playing this weekened. I grew up listening to that type of musi all through out HS.

Yeah but during Studio 102 it sounds like all rhythmic dude. I am liking every minute of this. Just how much hot-ac will they play starting Monday. Kind of afraid of that. ???

I doubt they are crying because of that. Both Jeff & Jen worked at legendary CHR WFLZ before forming the Hot AC morning show. They should be able to adjust to the new format with no problems unless Entercom decides they want to change the entire airstaff.

Oh, I didn't know that. Well, I am thinking that they will change the airstaff BUT the promo is running for Jeff & Jen for Monday morning saying "Hope you're enjoying your get to the store and shop before the holiday party weekend" or whatever. So, I don't think the airstaff change is happening soon? But.. I think the CHR change already happened due to the change in music and the 90's and now drop.

I hope not. But, that sounds resonable. I'm thinking Jeff & Jen don't have long. The only thing they need to update is the site. They took 90's And Now out the LEGAL ID. I'm thinking they're just going to go as "Cincinnati's Hit Music!"

You know what's really annoying about topics like this? There's nothing that's true!

One ignorant youngster hears one song or two on a special weekend and thinks it's a change.

Another ignorant youngster hears an update to a programming or imaging element and thinks it means a change.

The first ignorant youngster assumes that signals a complete format change Monday morning.

The second ignorant youngster assumes that means a complete staff change Monday morning.

The first ignorant youngster hears a weekend program and thinks it confirms it all.

Suddenly, based on nothing at all of any significance, two kids have a tens-of-millions-of-dollars property dumping everything. This whole thread is absurd.

Between the Bandit stuff and this, I have to ask: will sanity ever return to this board?

So, you're calling me a ignorant youngster? I bet it took you a long time to write that post. Well, I may be 14 but I run 3 internet radio stations, a internet countdown, AND my grandpa was in radio for over 40 years. You may call me a ignorant youngster but if I know to not insult people on this board, I think I know a little bit more than you do.

Let me guess, You work for Q102. If you let this thread bother you then either ignore it or grow some thick skin. Speculation is natural given all of the changes in the market this past week.

Thank you!! I mean, geez. Stay off the board if you're going to make a big deal about something so small like that.

I tend to agree that this is ALL speculation. At this point, it seems like weekend specialty programming to me. Clear Channel AC WLIT/Chicago recently started party music weekends - with a lot of stuff they never play. But they are back to normal on Monday mornings.

While I don't agree with how people were attacked on this board - there were no facts to back up the claim.

I'm sure Entercom will make their changes to the station now that they have control.

BTW, a change to rhythmic might violate the non-compete that Entercom and Cumulus agreed to with Radio One regarding the intellectual property of "Mojo"
