Q104.3 to replay countdowns

Q104.3 has an on-air promo that on each Sunday leading up to Thanksgiving, they will be playing the Top 104 songs from the past decade. Promo says "counting down to #2" (presuming most know the song which has climbed the stairway to #1 year after year). If they don't play the #1 song, would it take anything away any excitement from a replayed countdown?

I just don't care about countdowns any more. If I like the music or artist, it doesn't matter what number it is. If other people like charts, that is fine. "Different Strokes for Different Folks" from Everyday People by Sly and the Family Stone.

A perfect reason not to tune in to Q on Sundays, because it's too easy to predict what songs will be played. On the other hand, listening to the bottom end of the countdown is always interesting, as there's plenty of songs that Q doesn't play in regular rotation. I'd say around the 600-mark is where the excitement wears off.
