Q105's "Z To A" Weekend - Not Really

It's bad enough that they call it a "Z To A" weekend, yet played zero titles starting with "Z".

It's also bad enough they're not even attempting to play the song titles in some kind of order...

But according to Yes.com, on Thursday night, after about an hour of "W" songs, at 7 PM, they returned to a regular playlist (Tom Kent?). The "W" songs returned at 12 midnight.

The obvious choice would have used Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie.

Or they could have used what Cox used for Coast and The Point on their A to Z weekends: Zanzibar by Billy Joel.

By the way, apparently, Q105 thinks the Al Stewart song they played at 10 AM this morning is "The Year Of The Cat," when it charted as, simply, "Year Of The Cat."

Hey, I put together a bunch of songs starting with T (including "the") every Memorial Day. If that song title had the word "the" at the beginning, I would know it.

There is always ZABADAK by Dave, Dee,Dozy, and Beaky (I think)

This annoys me because Q105 at least tries to sound like radio as I remember it. Cox makes no attempt on most of it's stations in Tampa.

Q105 brings energy and people on the air who sound as if they are having fun. On the other hand, Cox has a formula that works for them. If it ain't broke..yadda, yadda, yadda. When the day comes that the formula no longer works, you'll see a change.

That's Scott Walker's version of Z to A. Just for the record, the man had never heard of "Who's Zooming Who" by the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, which was the follow up to "Freeway Of Love"...and this guy is the program director of a major market radio station owned by a major group. Guess it's like Steve Rivers (former PD of Q105 back in the 80's and former head of AM/FM Radio) said when he heard that Walker was the new PD brought in to replace Mason "That guy is an idot". Steve's words...not mine.

1985 that's Grandma Aretha to you and me - back then. Isn't sha a great-grandma now?
I was playing both of those songs as 45's.
