I thought I was hearing a long intro into the I-Dude today, but Q106 played VH's "Dance the Night Away" around 8:00 am.. Has the commercial well run a tad dry for them to do this ?? Any thoughts on this..

Could be just filling unsold inventory.

Like that is very likely. If it's true it's pretty sad. More than likely it was just a re-boot.

Either that or Imus decided to wrap up his hour at some ridiculous time like 7:52 as he is inclined to do every once in a while. Why play 8 spots in a row before the local news when you could throw on a 3 minute format tune to bridge the gap?

Imus plays songs as filler on his show anyhow. At least Van Halen isn't the Dixie Chicks or Eminem.<P ID="signature">______________

Not knocking you personally, you always did a decent job at Q106... but in this case why should "format tunes" matter? The audience that listens to Imus is completely different from the audience that listens during the rest of the day. They ain't there for the Van Halen tunes.

What sort of system do they use at Q106 if it's that unreliable to need a re-boot during a prime day part?
