I think, if that's what the guy is proclaiming, they have made a very wise decision... That is very serious doctrine shift from the relationship that is clear and evident in scripture.. I am sure the universalists will cry 'can't we all just love and agree to disagree'? But, it's about disagree in LOVE... Think about it.. We say God is love, as if God is a part of the universal love in man.. Really, it's LOVE IS GOD.... It's not real love unless God is in it.. It's not what we do in our love and effort, but what God does through us, as a willing part of His body and kingdom.. The Gospel does offend.. The scripture said that clearly..
It seems that the management of Q90 really cares about their listeners. If we give someone charity or "good works" without the proclamation of the Gospel then we didn't receive help that person at at all because his or her soul is still in eternal damnation. Deuteronomy 8:3b, Matthew 4:4
Seems they bought into the myth of separating Church and State from the newspaper article.
Humanism is something that is inherently bad. This seems to be their view. There are ways to work through government sponsored venues. Partnering with the government isn't always bad. This is what must be done in Muslim countries to evangelize. How far is our country from this?
Let me see here though...who will cast the first stone against this guy? The radio station. This is what the public sees, and not what they say. The radio station says it isn't against the festival and doesn't want to boycott it.
Lifefest doesn't promote a non religious view. They are clearly FOR Christ. If you can get 70,000 people together for something and Christ is at the center, why segregate yourself away?
I once had a confused brother give me a Calvinist view of life: If God is in it then it will succeed. Calvin believed God had no need of us, we were just hangin out. Life is a big test of us with God. Not just one of us, all of us.
A host of people ARE against the lifefest event but they are clear in their reasoning. Calvary Chapel and Crosstalk have some clear opinions.
I suspect that this created more buzz by the reports of the "incident" and many nut jobs have hammered the radio station already. We all may have opinions but let us hope that the Spirit that brought the station to this was love, and concern for their listeners.
Seems the guy either will speak with little fanfare or get paid and told, thanks, but no thanks.. Reliable source.. Lifefest is working on a solution..
