I actually prefer Q93 over WIVK as well. Personally, I've always hated 'IVK. I hate all the hokey full service stuff they are cluttered with. If I want that, I'll flip to a news/talk station. I don't listen to country that much, but when I do, I prefer a more produced, CHR type of presentation. (95.7 The Wolf San Francisco, 101.9 The Twister Oklahoma City, and 99.9 Kiss Country Miami are examples of the kind of stations I like).SoCentralChik1 said:I honestly can't tell the difference between once country song and another...but I asked a friend (who is a country fan), and she said that she actually prefers Q to WIVK.
She's obviously in the minority, but I found it interesting to hear someone say that.

I'd like to point out that IVK is down to an 18.3 and the Journal stations are at a 16.6. If IVK were to play polka....
Still, they have gone from a 21.3 to a 14.1 with persons 25-54 and from a 22.3 to a 12.8 with women 25-54 Fall 08 to Fall 09.
Q93 is only at a 5.3 18-34 as of Fall of 09 but watch for us to climb in 10. Join us for 93 Minutes of Non-Stop New Country - Mornings at 8:20 and Afternoons at 4:20

The country flip just fits better into Journal's cluster - Star 102.1, Hot 104.5 and AM 1040 as classic country. Check back in 2012 and Q93 will have flipped away from country as they will find they can't pull enough away from WIVK.
