Q96 off the air again

Saturday, 11am to just after 5pm. Did anybody notice, or care? This is the 3rd or fourth time it's been down since the booster has signed on.Using
only some audio gear , transmitter and antenna, how can it not be reliable? Not even a backup TX, or remote control? Why did it take so long?Well,
somebody has to notice it's off, contact the local contract guy and interrupt his day; then he gets to unlock the gate and drive up Miguel. And,
if he's lucky, fix it the "first" time up the hill.
So,how many advertising accounts are gonna accept these interruptions. on a new station, no less?
Makes you wonder how Cherry Creek's other stations are run...

Do they even run ads? The few times I've listened to them (I live in North County so I'm not normally in their coverage area) all I ever hear is music and an occasional live body behind the mic. But no advertising at all.

I'm going to make a prediction that nobody is going to agree with: Q96 will at some point become a full market signal station and will give other stations something worry about. Why do I think that? They have no choice. Cherry Creek is like any other station group owner, they own many stations. I think its likely that the orignal plans for the station have changed and did not pan out. They will not be able to sell it. They will need to make it a full market CHR that competes before anyone will even consider buying it, and by that point, Cherry Creek probably won't want to sell it anyway. At this point, the station is probably going off the air and on again, as Cherry Creek begins to invest real money into makeing it a listenable signal.

Those are just my opinions, my take, on it, that's all. Result may vary, no purchase necessary, void where prohibited.

This is slightly long of impossible without some pretty expensive engineering and agreements for multiple stations to move. Frankly, I don't think there's any way at all to do this, or they never would have bothered with the Campo effort.

Well the only way out of this is to silence the station, and move it accross the border. At least there they could have a desent signal.

Just my thought, dont mean to step on anyones toes.

There you go again. You are wrong on the prediction.

96.1 is too close to 96.5 and 95.7 to be a full market San Diego station. This station will never achieve anything but a disappointment as a San Diego station; it could be a successful East County station with a population base measured in thousands.

Easy there sailor, it was just an opinion. You made an excellence (undebatable) point.
