Q97.7

Did 97.7 change formats? I browsed by it the other day and heard Eminem.

It didn't seem like a coherent format to begin with, but even Eminem is way out of what trace of a format there actually was.

97.7's "format" has been hard for me to figure since day one..I'm not quite sure exactly what audience and demo they are after...Its been a strange brew from the start..

The Bear's Signal is iffy in Wayne,Johnston and counties west....97.7 would do well in my opinion as Classic Country station...That area loves its old Country...When I was doing a Classic show on 102.3 from 2003-2005 on Sunday night I had a pretty decent audience..It would give the station some identity which it sorely lacks now....As always just my humble opinion....

Maybe they should move their tower toward Johnston County, and i do agree a different format would be a good
idea, maybe simulcast "Country Legends 570" out of Raleigh that should be on FM, and still could be if "Pulse 102"
fails, which as i stated in a previous post, won't last.

Q97.7 started out as WVWB in Bridgeton, just outside New Bern. In the 70's they became WSFL and the license for WVWB was transferred to Kinston, a little bit of trivia.
