Quality control

Does anyone actually listen to their product?

55krc runs the same NBC news all day Saturday. (And they have live bodies to monitor). Been happening as far back as when they ran Fox news.

Rick Eugino on WLW continues to tell us the radar shows partly cloudy skies...no it can't show that.

Dan Patrick auto fill plays everyday when the satellite signal drops. Many days the DP "minute" plays over and over.

Sunday morning before Furbag, WSAI plays a full hour of spots and fill. No content just fill.

Local radio can still be great. Willie and the stooge report. Brian Thomas (but for God's sake stop referring to your audience in the plural) Lance and Mo on sports. But the second tier I heart stations are embarrassing

Step up or sell your assets to people who care.

Thanks for listening

I have read similar complaints about poor content control on here. Feeds airing on top of each other and old forecasts and news segments running could be problems with the log or automation or satellite switching. However the buck stops with whoever is minding the shop. I believe that iheart has made some positive changes in order to tighten things up but it may take a while to fix all of these issues.

Y - this stuff pretty common anymore. Amount of commercials is amazing anymore. Poor traffic guys have to incorporate big UC Hospital spiel before reporting on traffic. And Brian Thomas show - main content is like 20 minutes after top of hour news. The 2nd half hour is mostly commericials. (btw - I remember Rick Ucchino when he did sports with Furball. Also WLW news department a lot improved lately - esp. having Matt Reese.)

Seen these complaints for years, especially about 1530. Just smacks of not caring about quality control beyond WLW, which is sad.

Then again, when people have limited resources, they prioritize.

CKY and SAI are two of the lowest rated stations in town. Perfection isn't going to change that.

I get that explanation and thought, but I don't think it excuses sloppiness in on-air presentation. Can't be that hard to make sure automation is running correctly and have someone minding the store.

If you eat fast food, you deal with sloppy presentation all the time. Yes it can't be that hard to put a hamburger on a bun and include napkins in the bag, but they screw it up a lot.

At least your market has windscreens for the microphones. Down here in Atlanta several stations constantly "pop" the microphone on the air and on a lot of local commercial recordings. One would think the engineers or program directors would care just from a "loudness" angle. The popping has to raise heck with an AGC or AGC function somewhere in the audio chain.

Ha Ha - 55KRC just ran 20 minutes of 2 feeds. One was Clyde Lewis - who made about as much sense as when you can clearly hear him. Not sure when they normally run that one.

Like listening to streaming is this pristine experience. Between buffering, the stream shutting down when you get a text (if mobile) and other artificacts, it has issues of its own. I listen to WLW online just about every morning on the iHeart app (I'm out of daytime on-air range) and it's rare I don't have to re-start the stream 3 times.
