QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY

So forget about the numbers no one here can actually see. Forget about the business end. Forget about how well some loser station that has listeners simply because they're on the air. Let's talk who is doing a good job from the sheer standpoint of good radio. I don't think any major Providence station is unlistenable but there's a lot of producing the kind of radio it doesn't take programming genuises to produce. IMHO the ones doing a good job and still sounding like there's some interest beyond playing the next well researched song:
PRO-FM: Some of the time. As the day goes on, they start resting on past laurels but for the most part they haven't completely abandoned ship in favor of background CHR music.
HJY: Recent cuts notwithstanding they still have the HJY attitude and have managed to maintain it.
WCTK: When you come down to it it may be the only station with any kind of excitement left in it. The staff sounds like they're having a good time. I don't believe there's a lot of sales turnover either.
Sorry but everyone else is phoning it in

For what they are I don't think Lite is doing a bad job. I'm not into what they are but I don't find them as banal as Coast which is surprising because the music is lighter and at least they have a staff of well known personalities in the market as opposed to well known personalities among their circle of radio friends.
