QUBE, Columbus headend, December 1977

From mtburb on the Michigan Buzzboard:

Anyone who may have lived in or visited central Ohio in the late 70's may remember QUBE, which spawned several elements now common in modern cable systems and also helped lay the footprint for what is now Charter Spectrum.

QUBE, Columbus headend, December 1977 (the entire P tier was the predecessor of The Movie Channel)

I had QUBE in Pittsburgh when we first got cable. That was not until mid-1982 due to a lot of political haggling
over the awarding of the franchise. (the committee was chaired by a Catholic Deacon who was committed to
keeping adult channels off the system). On the QUBE came channel they had a quiz program where players in
Pittsburgh could compete against QUBE subscribers in Columbus, Cincinnati and Houston for bragging rights.
