Question about 105.9 & 107.9

Just curious... Do WPZX and WKRF have their own legal studios, or do they each just have a single STL shot (or, perhaps, a "double hop"(?)) from Scranton and Pittston to their respective Pocono transmitter sites?

I can only speak for WKRF. They have no studio in Monroe County unless they have something little at the transmitter. WKRF once was WPMR AM-FM (before that WPCN AM) and had a studio on Mt. Drive in Mt. Pocono. They used that sight until WPMR went dark - a great station I must say. Occasionally an engineer would come in and check on things. The transmitter was on the site of the studio and moved some time in the late 90's. After that I believe Nassau somehow ended up with the building. Last I looked the building is still empty with a for rent sign in front.

I know for a fact that WKRF doesn't have studio at their transmitter on Big Pocono. They have no type of studio in the Poconos, not sure on the WEZX situation.

Pocono Pines, PA is located 22 air miles from the Citizens-Voice Building in downtown Wilkes-Barre, PA; the location of the WPZX studio, fulfilling the 25 mile legal requirement.

Wow... For some reason, I had no idea it was that close. To me, being a "valley dweller" (who also works at home, so I don't get out much), the Pocono area seems like a whole world away :D
