Question about cable syndication rights.

I've noticed a lot of shows (from looking through Wikipedia pages) have syndication from a lot of times 3 year periods. However, I noticed one station, TBS, seems to play their syndicated shows, especially overnight ones, a lot until they expire. For example, I remember Married with Children reruns they would play for sometimes 5-6 hours at a time overnight until they expired. I notice they do that with Family Matters as well. Is there a "spin count" or are they making the most of their shows until their contract expires?
