QUESTION ABOUT FAYETTEVILLE RADIO

When I lived in Fayetteville, I used to switch during mid-days between Deano on WKML and Omega Jone...don't remember what station she was on then...this was back in 03, but I had heard she had moved maybe to Foxy...now I can't find anything about her.

She still on the air in Fayette-hell?

Funny you call hearing Deano on as 'old times'....I remember his first day on the air at WKML back in 2003. Guess 8 years almost at the same station is considered long tenure these days...and I think he worked his way into the PD spot there as well.

The only ones I can think of that have been here 8 years off the top of my head are Jim Cooke at WFNC and Curt Nunnery at WAZZ. Maybe Ann Thomas at WRCQ but I think she was gone for a while there and came back. And probably some of the staff at WFSS. And Jeff Thompson is back (at WIDU now) after several years gone. And I'm thinking Dave Stone at WFLB has been there a while, too.

I checked the web, and Don Chase, deanO and Larry K. Smith at WKML all seem like longterm names.

Since Brother Strickland and Johnny Joyce and Dr. Larry Records Cannon went away, radio just hasn't been the same here. :)

If you count signals that get into F'ville, Eagle 92.9 has several longer-term staffers - Ed Palmer, Chase Matthews, Bo Davis, Mudflap - almost the entire staff has been on the air since the early-mid 00's.

Eagle 92.9 might count, but I haven't seen them doing much up here since the early 00s (promotional-wise, they seem to have their share of listeners though).
"Early-mid 00s" is "long term for radio" too, I guess. :'(

I know that its not a Fayetteville market station, but the gospel station in Dunn who's signal gets into Fayetteville, WCKB 780AM, their morning guy, "Good Morning Charlie" has been there since 1986, Ron Tart has been around since the 70's, Neal Wood, who does mid-days has been there over 20 years, and Lottie Squires, their Music Director/other mid-day person, has been there since 1991.
