Question about Mike Francesa (from WFAN) on Yes TV

A place where I occasionally have lunch has its TV tuned to the Yes television channel. At that time, it features WFAN personality Mike Francesa doing his radio show.
The video of this simulcast simply shows him talking into a mike at the radio studio. Unlike most other tv shows that feature radio personalities (such as Imus on Fox Business) there are no visuals added to make it more interesting to watch.
As I am not into sports radio, perhaps those who are can explain whether there is any compelling reason to watch this, rather than simply listening on WFAN. About the most exciting thing that Francesa is seen doing is adjusting the placement of his microphone. Perhaps this is simply a relatively low-cost time filler for the station, in between baseball shows?

When the YES Network originally added the WFAN program to their schedule at the TV channel's inception in March 2002, it was the "Mike + The Mad Dog" show with Francesa and Chris Russo. So at least there was byplay between the hosts, even as neither of them played to the cameras.

The YES simulcast also began before WFAN began streaming its audio in April 2006. So in addition to being filler programming for YES, it became a way for out-of-town followers of WFAN/Mike + The Mad Dog/New York sports to receive the program - mainly via sports packages offered by satellite TV providers. Now with streaming, not as much...unless one wants to catch Mike dozing off during a Sweeny Murti interview or hiding a cup of frozen dessert or swigging Diet Coke from unlabeled bottles.

As if five hours of WFAN on Yes TV isn't enough, AllAccess reports rumor has it that the channel may make a bid for rights to also air the morning Boomer & Carton radio show. The article states that Friday was the last day they were simulcast on the MSG TV sports channel, due to their TV rebroadcast contract apparently not being renewed.

Actually, at some points during Francesa's soliloquys, a YES engineer might run footage or stats of a game that he is discussing.
