Question about shows piped over via live satellite feed......

....and believe it or not, these shows still exist! Now, I live here in Atlanta but, I drove back home for Easter to see the family in Augusta. And I noticed something weird about OPEN HOUSE PARTY that has been going on everytime I go down there and hear it so obviously, there is a technical reason.....BUT, Augusta's HD98.3 (WHHD), when and only when they run OPEN HOUSE PARTY, it's always delivered in MONO and not STEREO. The music, remixes, stagers, jingles and network spots (all having to do with O.H.P. are all mono! ??? I can always tell when they go to a local-Augusta spot set because those are all in stereo. But, back to the live satellite feed and music on Open house Party, it's right back to mono. Some of the current CHR/dance music out there just does NOT sound good in mono! So, why do they do this?

Any thoughts?

Somewhere along the line, the delivery system is mono - l;ikely the satellite channel itself. Lower the bandwidth, cut the cost. Works fine on talk segments, sometimes not so well on la musica.
