question about sirius power cord

i have a starmate 3. it uses the universal home kit. now i have a question. i have a spare antenna (xm)--yes it works ..and i even have a spare power cord (xm) it works but i am scared to use it. my question. is it ok to use an xm cord on my home kit? i am always moving the kit from room to room. also if not can i use the power cord from a starmate replay? or xact? those kits are 10.00 at wal mart.
