Question About Stereo Tool

Hey gang I jock for an internet station and I am looking to add some umph to my audio. I have winamp just as my player to listen to music I have loaded on my HD, but I added Stereo Tools to winamp and it has really brought life to my computer. I see where it can also be added to SAM which is what I use to stream when I am on the air... I am considering adding it to SAM and wanted to get your thoughts on how you guys think it sounds. I know from the standpoint of Winamp I have it sounding good, but I know SAM is a whole different beast... The station I stream for is currently 96 Kbps with a wide mix of 70's, and 80's hits... Do any of you currently run ST and if so I would love to hear your stream to see how it sounds... TIA. CC1

I've never heard of Stereo Tools as I'm sure most others haven't...at least in my circle.

Have you considered using the included AGC and the many presents that are available at SAMs website (search in the SAM Broadcaster - General forum)?

There's another DSP plug-in, which is probably not as simple as Stereo Tools, that I found that has 10-bands of compression/expansion and a single band limiter. The included presets are great, but it isn't free and the demo version is greatly restricted (Audio-Proc).

Just realized what it was.

I have read of some broadcasters using it and never a complaint.

radiowayne uses Stereo Tool on both of his streams via SAM4. radiowayne did not care for the build SAM processing features and found
Stereo Tool to be an excellent replacement. Release 3.30 is just out which uses fewer pc resources.

But, then again, he could be wrong.
