After returning home from vacation Tuesday, I noticed Comcast has added KHSL-DT 2, The CW, finally in high-definition on Channel 710. I'm not sure when the channel was added, but it can't have been too long ago, as there is no guide info for the channel yet; just wall-to-wall "To Be Announced."
Is this straight from the OTA feed, or is KHSL providing an HD simulcast exclusively to cable systems? I'm assuming its the former, because they're broadcasting in 720p (presumably to conserve bandwidth) even though most CW affiliates are 1080i.
Either way, it's a positive step forward for HD in our market. Hopefully MyNetworkTV, local news and syndicated shows on Channels 7 and 20 aren't far behind.
