Question about the sports radio networks - ESPN Radio, Fox Sports Radio, etc

I was just curious are the stations that air ESPN Radio, Fox Sports Radio, etc required to clear a certain number of hours of programming a week

They are required to clear a certain number of commercials. The exact number is negotiable. They can carry them within network programming or ROS (run outside of show).

ESPN Radio tries hard to make Golic & Wingo must-air programming for its affiliates. ESPN Radio only permits its stations to use the moniker 'ESPN Radio' in station branding if they carry a certain number of hours of ESPN programs.

I'm not aware of any stations which currently mix-and-match network programming. A lot of the stations affiliated with these networks are throwaways in their cluster which are looking for easy programming, not necessarily the best programming. Stations which are not throwaways will have mostly local programming, using the network for filler in nights, weekends, and maybe one or two dayparts mid-days.

680 The Fan in Atlanta airs ESPN radio programming at nights and weekends. They also air CBS Sports Radio’s John Kincade Show on Sunday morning.

It may be a one off though because John is a weekday co-host on the station and broadcasts the CBS show from 680’s studio.

And of course for many years Mr Kincaid's weekend program was on ESPN Radio. I can't remember if ESPN showed him the door in favor of Bristol-based talent, or if he willingly left for CBS Sports Radio.

KFXN (K-Fan) 100.3 Minneapolis airs CBS Sports Radio, NBC Sports Radio and FOX Sports Radio (the first two mainly on weekends)

That's what KFXN's website says, even though NBC Sports Radio doesn't operate in the Saturday 4pm to midnight slot where they are supposedly on KFXN's air, and they have not since December 2018.

It's even weirder that KFXN is an iHeart station, and FSR is syndicated by iHeart.
