Question about Vacay Jay and co-hosts

I can't stand vacay and stopped listening to him a long time ago but while channel surfing lately, I hear what seems
to be a co-host. A guy named Bowser or Bower I think and yesterday a woman was there with vacay. I can't believe he would voluntarily put up with having a co-host since his ego is so massive and he can barely stand to even allow callers. He prefers to just babble on for four hours about whichever subject interests him and he could care less what callers have to say. So what's the backstory on this co-host deal. Even though I can't stand him, It has piqued my curiosity. I never stay around long enough to hear if he explains the situation. I'm imagining this is something the station is doing to keep him in line. I also heard him say he was broadcasting from his home studio one day. I thought that ended when he came back from suspension and they made him travel all the way into Boston so they could keep an eye on him. Thanks in advance if anyone answers.

Ahhh...the obligatory "I only listen to (name host/station) by accident" disclaimer. Should be the radio board entry into the Cliche Hall of Fame.

Based on the experiences of posters to this board, ARB should have a new category labeled "Inadvertent Listening."

Jay annoys the crap out of me, has for years, but I will admit I tune in sometimes. Agreed, can't believe he's "sharing" the spotlight....it doesn't always work and that's awkward to listen to. Also they have gone on plenty of fluff topics that Jay alone used to scoff at. Jay made fun of Howie Carr doing light topics, now Jay's even worse.
 
thanks for the answers. I guess it hasn't been explained to the listeners why they are paired up. But I do appreciate the responses.

Thank you. I don't follow the ratings so I can't comment. I just can't imagine Jays ego sharing the mic with anyone. He must have had one heck of a hissy fit when they forced this on him. As I said before, I stopped listening to him a very long time ago. I listen to Howie in that time slot. I'll miss him this week while he is in Florida. Avi is ok and Michele is ok but I'd much rather hear Howie.
