I installed a 10 element Winegard FM (along with the optional amp) on my house in 1983. In the late 80s, Hurricane Hugo blew through town with 125mph winds for 5-6 hours. Just thankful that my house was still standing, I emerged the next morning to find most of my shingles gone (several of my neighbor's roofs were missing) and was amazed to see the Winegard standing completely undamaged. Over the next decade, we were visited by several lesser hurricanes. Meanwhile, we were subjected to several terrible ice storms, the kind that cuts your power off for two weeks at a time. Several times, those ice storms destoyed every RS TV antenna in the area, but the Winegard FM continued to stand strong. In 2000, I sold the house, and the guy who bought it requested that I throw in the Winegard as part of the deal. A few weeeks ago, I drove by the the old house and noticed the Winegard still looked as straight and steady as new. 23 years! Yeah, I would say I'd recommend Winegard, if their quality is anything like they were then.
