Question About WKTF in Vienna

This morning around 11:15, I was getting country oldies on 1550. There were local ads for Whiteville, NC, and an ID... WSRC.

Now I know WSRC (Fair Bluff, NC) is on 1480, and it seems like I once heard that these two stations were simulcasting. Can anyone confirm this?

Yup, they are.

THe website is at:

What you hear on WKTF 1550 is exastly what you hear on the stream, WKTF is being fed by the stream.

WKTF may also not be at its full 10KW

It's a sad, sad thing what has become of that station. I understand they did a lot of damage to the building getting that 10kW POS Harris transmitter in. Jack Powers and Bill Goodson built that station back in '79 with the latest, state of the art equipment. It had Harris Criterion 90 cart machines, Stereo 80 and Stereo 5 consoles, MSP-80 limiters. The only down side was the MW1-A transmitter. It was built from the ground up for stereo (for when the FCC decided on a standard), and more than enough office space. I looked seriously at buying it, but they are asking $250k for it. That's about $200k more than it's worth. There is no way the current owner is going to get enough out of it to pay off the note.

The last three times I have been to Vienna, it's been off the air and locked up tight.
