Question about WNCV (Niceville-FWB)

Ok.. I'm not familer with FCC practices but here it goes..

Why did Coast 100 move to 93.3 when they could have applied for a 50KW station on 100.3?

Was it due to the sale of 100.3 being sold to (I think) Quantum? Why couldn't Quantum just fire up 93.3?
This whole situation turned into a big mess on switching day when the lawyers went havoc with the Commission trying to get the paperwork done to fire up the 93.3 transmitter.

Also, What happened to 93.3 "The Power Pig" out of Dothan? Were they shut down? I noticed 96.9 changed their name to "The Big Dog" (in regards to their 100KW signal)

I clearly heard their signal out of Quicy (about 30 miles away from it) A local 93.3 there playing country music blocked my view while going on 10 west from our holiday in Orlando.

Hi Rob and everybody. I've been reading this board for a long time but never registered to post. And honestly Rob, if I hadn't read your posts in the past, I would think you post things specifically designed to make everyone shake their head and groan, lol. (especially cceng)

So I thought I'd attempt to answer Rob's questions this time to give the rest of you a break. I did say attempt so don't be too hard on me here if I'm wrong.

The whole 93.3/100.3/98.1 Cumulus/Ron Hale/Qantum situation is complicated for even the best of us. It would take a while to explain it all over again so that your facts above would be correct. But here's a little:

Why did Coast 100 move to 93.3 when they could have applied for a 50KW station on 100.3?
Coast 100's signal only reached FWB/Destin and as far as I know, cannot go to 50k. Moving Coast to 93.3 gave Cumulus a better cluster of signals that would all cover both FWB/Destin and also portions of Pensacola. (Z96 and 99 Rock's signals also get into both)

Was it due to the sale of 100.3 being sold to (I think) Quantum? Why couldn't Quantum just fire up 93.3?
100.3 was never being sold to Qantum. 98.1 was until all the legal issues. Why couldn't Qantum just fire up 93.3? 93.3 wasn't just a new signal fired up, it was a 100k move in signal from Evergreen, AL. Ron Hale bought it when it was still in Evergreen, then went from there.

Also, What happened to 93.3 "The Power Pig" out of Dothan? Were they shut down? I noticed 96.9 changed their name to "The Big Dog" (in regards to their 100KW signal)

93.3 The Power Pig wasn't in Dothan. It was the Evergreen, AL station I mentioned above. There has only been one 93.3 in this whole story, it has just been moved around.

Alright guys, have at me with anything I'm wrong at so I can refresh my memory.

93.3 the Power Pig had nothing to do with the Dothan market. It served the part of Alabama between the Mobile, Montgomery and Dothan markets. Since 93.3 moved down to FWB the old Power Pig format has shifted to WPGG 1470 AM and is simulcast on WTID 101.1 FM in the Evergreen area.

The other 93.3 you are hearing is WGWD out of Gretna (Quincy), Florida. They are a great, locally owned, Classic Country station serving the Tallahassee area. It's pretty difficult to get their signal west of the Apalachicola river.

Are they in stereo? or just sending a stereo signal like Crestview 104.7 is? He's sending a stereo carrier but mono music and it's rather annoying. I know he applied for a mono license but I can see "ST" on the receiver.

(WAAZ I think)
