The big Chicken snatched those calls the second 95.1 let go of them, in early 1991. Adams didn't own them at the time. 95.1 went to WGKL in mid January, WCKN was WROQ by February 2nd. 95.1 was purchased by Adams and flipped to WAQQ in late October.
Thanks NewsNow. I did work with someone that clamed to had been hired during the final days of Z-95.1 and had had stated that Adams wanted to bring back 95-Q. Perhaps wishful thinking or BS on his part.
There was a mention earlier on this thread about how great the "95-Q Saturday Morning Live" show was with Sonny Hollywood Chase (formerly of Z-100, Charlotte), I got a lot of e-mail off of it requesteing airchecks, and, since I can not reply to them all, I am posting here that I have uploaded 18 minutes of that show from December 1987 on my site (www.thatwasradio.com) in the WROQ section, complete with Mitch Craig sweepers, it's a Christmas show, fittingly, enjoy!
