Hi AKLes:

I noticed a mention, in an old post, about a sydincated show called "Elevator Going Up". Is this the show that features the old Beautiful Music orchestras? I have heard of such a show. Is this the one??

Thanks!

"Elevator Going Up" is a show I produced for a station in Portland, Oregon. It ran 27 minutes for each of about 56 episodes. Featured were Beautiful Music orchestrations, many of them old, a few of them newer attempts at the genre. Most were thematic; one in particular, "Good Enough To Eat" featured selections somehow related to food. "Life Is Just A Bowl of Cherries" (Nelson Riddle), "Yes, We Have No Bananas" (Frank Chacksfield), etc.

I doubt you would have heard this program unless you live in or near Portland. On the other hand, a friend recently established an Internet station based in the midwest so it is not impossible he has reused his set of CDs.

While I have moved and no longer have a studio -- and no plans to build a new one -- I still have the original CDs and would be willing to discuss their use if you are aware of a station that might want to use the series. Only cost would be the media and that, only, if I find I can cleanly make copies. I dumped the old bug-ridden Windows computer and went all Mac at the new house. Still, I think duplication might be simple; just gotta figure out how to do it.

If you can figure out how to use the R-I messaging system, and would like to take this further, please contact me. If not, try "[email protected]".
