Bilco (or anyone else in the area), what do you think of the coverage of the KQQL translator on 102.3 vs the big sticks in Las Vegas (or just yours at Lotus)?

I have listened to them along Boulder Highway, down south as far as the M, up and down the Strip, and I believe up on I-215 by Aliente and they had a decent signal in all of those areas. They seem to be listenable in most of the Las Vegas area, all with a lousy little 99 watts (but at close to 900 ft?)

The coordinates of the stick from RadioLocator puts it across the street from the Stratosphere, which doesn't make sense. It is actually up on the top of the Strat?

I believe it is at the top of the Stratosphere. 99 Watts is plenty if the location is good. Our 98.9 translator on Black Mt. Henderson for KWWN 1100 AM is only 100 watts and it gives city grade coverage over the entire metro area. A ham repeater I help maintain on the top of the former Hilton hotel worked most of the area with 250 milliwatts on 146.94 for a week or more while we were getting it fixed. I worked it as far out as the Speedway. In FM, location and altitude is everything. That does not mean it has good building penetration. If you had an office inside one of the major casinos even a mile or so away, you probably would not get a good signal from the 99 watts on the Strat or from my 100 watts on Henderson.
