My G/F asked me a kinda silly question this morning,,, but I wasnt able to answer it, so as the day went on I realized that she is becoming more of a radio geek, so its not such a silly question after all,, So I told her I would ask Charles online, the international Dance and CHR Webcaster guy this question and see what he says.

The question first was asked, What Dance station is in the coldest climate in the world,, and I scratched my head and asked,,, Well, do you mean the farthest North, or just the coldest climate, cause that may differ, and my next question was,, do the Networked Repeaters, and translaters count? Or just the stations homebase where the studio is...Needless to say I just got a stair out of that one... So here are my picks for Coldest Climates,,, and or farthest North..... This includes their multiple network translaters.. My first pick is probably Russia's RADIO RECORD,,, based in Saint Petersburg with 50+ translaters all over Russia's citys, and even some Siberian Villages??? Cant get colder or farther north than that????CAN WE??? Well,, Helsinki Finland has Radio KLF with translater networks all through to the north of Finland... Club fm and Progressive FM are also all over Finland I think??? I think Sweden just has one Dance station which is farther south.. Lativa is farther south,, and is NRK Mpetre in Norway really still considered a Dance station, or arent they more CHR now days???? Europa Plus isnt really a Dance station, and I dont think it has near the Repeaters in Russia as Radio Record????? So my top 2 guesses are Radio Record 106.3 based in Saint Peterburg, and on through Russia into Siberia even,, or Radio KLF 100,,, based in Helsinki Finland, and networked on northword throughout Finland. I really dont know why she wants to know, or cares what dance station is farthest north,, Im a radio geek, but I just lock in the streams and enjoy the tunes without much knowledge or interest in where on the globe its geographically located, but she has me curious....

Your guesses are spot on. The answer can be asked and answered in a number of ways, depending on how it's defined. Usually the answer will still come out to being Radio Record in Russia. It can be picked up in some of the coldest cities on earth. Weather-wise though I think that St. Petersburg's weather may be a bit warmer then Moscow even though it's located north of it. The reason being is that it's close to a body of water. By the way, did you know that Moscow and Anchorage are on the same line weather-wise?
M-Petre in Norway has indeed evolved into more of a CHR/Pop station in the past year.
My question to you is how do you always find girls who are into listening to Dance stations online? Some of the girls I've dated were never all that big on Dance music, and even some of the more mainstream sounding records seem underground to them. Others have somewhat gotten into it through me, but definitely not to the same extent as me or you, LOL.

Well my current girl and also a few from the past where both already big CHR radio fans,,, my current girl I met on 1clubs chat line last december,, she was into Miami House channel, and oddly enough, her name is also Cassandra.. My last EX, which only lasted a few months was not into dance, and my EX of 7 yrs was more of a Wannabe Dance fan,,, thats the one that claimed to be a practicing witch,,, she cheated on my and left my while I was doing bored ops at nights,, she left me for my EX best friend, now has a baby with him.. I could go on about their drug use,, child neglect, and their restraining orders on me,, but its so off topic..

Anyway,, my current girl loves the CHRs that are dance friendly, like Z-1035, and Slam FM,, and also I-Party radio,,, Mix FM in Beruit,, but she is also a fan of jumpstyle, though she still does the soldier boy dance.... Im doing my best,, its fine to like CHR and Dance as well,,, a good balanced station like Slam FM or Z-1035,, and a good active hits CHR like the Nova Network in Australia are good...

In the NYC area, it's easy to meet girls into dance music thanks to Mega Media's fine job with Pulse 87.

Yeah... NYC,,,, and even in Chicago and Miami to this day...... In NYC it isnt just Pulse,,, but KTUs past, and to a lesser extent these days,, hot 97-103...

Does Iceland still have any dance stations around or are they also all CHR's leaning dance heavy. When I was there in 1998, they had a pretty good dance station. That's pretty up there too!

I think Iceland still has Dance on 107.5 Chrles would know.... Iceland actually has mild winters at times though, the whole island is like hot springs... It doest always matter where they are geographically located.. Saint Louis, Kansas City and Denver are all about the same distance North, but Saint Louis has much warmer winters than KC... And Denver can have either mild winters, or Blizzard conditions.. Just like Chicago, Detroit, Toledo, and Cleveland are much colder than indianapolis, Columbus, ETC,,, they are not that much farther north, but the great lakes makes these citys sometimes 25 degrees colder than indianapolis, Columbus ETC...
