Question For Double O

Hey Neil I know you keep up a lot with the hip hop scene in Cola Town... I noticed that DJ Prince Ice is not listed on Hot 103.9's web site and only has a one hour mix on DM from Noon til 1... Does he not do his Ice Cold Radio show any more??? I also noticed that they put the WWE on from 10P till 2A... When that take place... For a Rhythmic CHR to me that is the wrong time to be putting a talk based show on the air... Just curious... CC1

Hi Carroll, kinda threw me off guard there, I thought you were asking the Double O company a question LOL. In no way am I affilliated with them though, just a ref. to James Bond:)

As for 103.9, I believe Prince Ice is on Saturday nights. And yes Wendy Williams is on from 10pm-2am. Why? I have no clue. Maybe she is too obscene for the Columbia market for drive time. Well, she is on in Florence from 2pm-6pm on Flo 102-9. WHXT deserves to be beaten by WXBT because they have really lost their touch. WXBT isn't anything to write home about either, but at least theres no Wendy Williams LoL. Granted I have been surprised sometimes during only their mixes on 103.9, but overall comparing them from when they signed on 8 years ago exactly, they are rather bland now. I remember back in 99, Hot 103.9 was the talk of Columbia, and even Charleston. They blew me away with their presentation as it wasn't over the top and werent using the same VO as most other Urbans now. I would not consider them a Rhythmic T40 due to their presentation and their shows (Doug Banks, Wendy Williams). Honestly, I believe Cola town deserves a Rhythmic top 40 in this market. Hot 103.9 would be a perfect candidate for that even though they would have to ditch the popular Doug Banks. As for WW, they could just ditch her, but they would probaly move her to DM. Columbia radio overall is not as good as it was even a few years ago. WNOK had Toby Knapp as their PD kicking in some great mixes during drive times, and nonstop mixes on holidays. WHXT had some real fun as well. A Rhy top 40 would really shake things up around here. I only wish there was someone brave enough to step up! Thoughts? Thanks for the question, I'm willing to help anytime:)
