Question For Hendrie Fans

I didn't hear Phil Hendrie much before he started being carried in SF. I had previously only heard about his characters, so I was surprised to find how much of his show is right-wing political talk. Was the show always that way, or is this a post-9/11 thing for him?

Doesn't he do voice for the cartoon "King of the Hill"?

Newsperson responds:

Back in the late 90s I remember picking him up late at night on KFI. Back then it was not political at all. It was just outragous things that would get people mad and call up.

The amazing thing it that it was always just him with different voices of his own. It was especially funny when he is trying to interrupt another person, when we know that person is himself. He is an excellent actor.

I have not heard Phil Hendrie in S. F. What station is he on and when?

He said on his own show during the early Iraq war days that he had done straight talk for over 20 years or such before starting the comedy bit. He did 6 hours a night of straight talk during the 1st weeks of the war, and was great. His act is pretty amazing, though. Even more amazing is the number of callers that are so clueless that they don't know it's him talking to himself doing another voice. He must have some kind of switch to flip from phone to mic to get the caller sound. Pretty cool. Think he's on KTRB now.
