Question for Mods

Hello Mods,

I have a request and a question. It seems that there is a LOT of confusion on these boards on what IS and what ISN'T appropreate. I have seen posts containing personal attacks that have not been closed/deleted and threads that have been closed that discuss things such as political correctness on the radio.

Now, I understand the Mods need to do their job, but we as the community that uses this board need clear rules as to what is and what isn't acceptiable. Can we have a more detailed "Rules page" (I have read it and it is ambigious in a lot of ways) or a Forum FAQ?

In order to help the mods police these boards, us users need to have some better guidelines. . .

thank you
Roach

I think this is a fair question. Where I have the time to read deep down into a thread I do. Where I find blatant personal attacks, I deal with them.

Now, mind you, I'm one guy and there are a couple of others who watch the board also. But remember, we have jobs to do, me included. My news gathering/writing duties don't really allow for me to babysit the board and wait for trouble to start. So, in the case of threads that get out of hand, we rely on you people do report them.

If I don't respond, one of the other mods should.

Now, what's appropriate and what's not? Well, calling other people names (like children do). Attacking personal integrity. Quoting Arbitron numbers verbatim. Posting an entire copyrighted work. I mean, there are some things that don't need deep explanations. But, since I seem so abrasive lately to some of you, I will say that specific incidents have occurred that prompt us to remove threads. One is posting simply to complain about something that was removed. Our decision is final. No discussion, we want to talk about radio.

Also, while I'm on the subject of talk radio, you may post comments about talk show hosts' shows, the station and the subject matter of their conversations. HOWEVER - do NOT start attacking the personal integrity of the hosts. Keep it professional.

That's all for now, and I'd appreciate it if anyone wishes to discuss this further, that they'd email me. I'll be able to discuss this all you wish in a private email.<P ID="signature">______________
