Question for Rodney Ho, re: The Regular Guys

Okay, I've just read Rodney's article about the Regular Guys getting fired, and there is one issue which continues to baffle me.

The Regular Guys were terminated in 2004, under very similar circumstances, for their "Backwards Porn" stunt. However, in 2004, Clear Channel continued to pay Eric and Larry AFTER they got fired, and were sitting at home.

Why is Clear Channel NOT paying Eric and Larry after their latest termination? The circumstances, reasons for termination, and other details are almost identical to 2004, although this time they are NOT getting paid to sit out, according to Rodney's article.

Rodney if you happen to know, I'd appreciate your response to this.

I’m not Rodney, but after reading every single RG post today I’m qualified to guess:

Last time was fear of the FCC. This time CC folded under pressure and fired TRG in order to stop the Y&P lawsuit.
 
Also, last time was an "accident." TRG's didn't mean for it to go out over the air as it was being recorded. This time, what was done was on purpose.
 
Several issues involved here, but one might be the idea of progressive correction... It is much easier to avoid lawsuits from interested parties in HR matters if you can document a pattern of progressively severe punishment before termination... Don't know about poor performance evaluations or other "corrections" that the RG's may have had, but firing them once (with pay) a few years ago, after several previous suspensions - then rehiring them, they didn't have many more options of progressive correction left. They ran out of "get out of jail" free cards.

Although discrimination works both ways. Maybe Wachs can shoot for discrimination based upon being jewish, much like Yogi & Panda can claim their minority status?

Minority Status? Youv'e got to be kidding!!!! The two above mentioned spanish jocks are not minority's. Look around, Soon we will be electing a Spanish decent president.
What a joke ! The regular guys had a huge audience and will continue to have one when they resurface at another outlet. As for Viva, another waste of a frequency.
