question from a newbie. please help!!!

i was recently awarded the night slot at the station that i had worked part-time at for about a year. but when i was to save money i have to voice-track my show(basically to keep me on part time). i did not want to miss the oportunity so i started doing nights, but i would come in and voice-track everything. sometimes i have to voice-track one or even two days ahead. i guess my main question is how can i make the show sound interesting, and get the listeners involved when i voicetrack the show at least 2 hours before it. i am also trying to get my ratings up so that one day i can put a demo together and be able to have some sort of ratings, but voicetracking seems like i cant get anywhere without listener interaction.

easy do phoners....even before hand...you could also track the show a little bit ahead and answer phone calls and air them a bit later!
There's ways around it! Just stay cool! Be creative! Just be in the studio while you're shift is on! Stay for half of it and track out the rest of your shift. That way you wont feel like your wasting your time/money.....you dig?
Holla!
