question in regards to Houston radio circa 1989

Hey everyone,
My name is christina and I am a reporter for the Houston Press Rocks Off. I am working on an interview I did with the Bangles' Susanna Hoffs and I need to ask everyone a question. For the concert they did at the Sam Houston Tollway opening, what radio station sponsored that show? I need to know the answer soon.

You should ask your question on the Houston board.

Christina,

My (somewhat) educated guess would be that it was KKBQ (93Q) in their Top 40 days that sponsored that show. I seem to remember them doing a "remote" broadcast from the Beltway 8 West/I-10 Katy Freeway interchange at about that time.

I hope this helps,

Andy

I would have to agree because KKBQ (once 79Q) did all sorts of stuff, like the 79Q blimp over I-10 in Houston's Freeway History Book.

At that time, Power 104 slowly started to catch on.

You could ask Mark Landis, he works for BMP San Antonio. I think he is the same Landis that was at 93Q back in 1989. www.bmpradio.com

Mark had a YouTube video of the 93Q Top songs of the 80s video aircheck.

I would ask Landis.
