Question of the day

Have there ever been any Atlanta Radio Broadcasters that have destroyed their career because of harassment? Sexual and/or other forms?

The only Atlanta on air talent can think of was a TV weather guy that was rumored have a thing for little boys back in the 1980's(?). IIRC Atlanta radio has been lucky.

Russ Minshew. If I recall correctly he was found not guilty. He was 48 when he died of a brain tumor.
Correct on all counts, except the spelling (Minchew).

Didn't Johnny Beckman (I think I miss spelled the name) and Russ Minchew "swap" or get "swapped" from channel 11 to 2 at one time?
You might be thinking of Guy Sharpe* (RIP), ATL's best weatherman evAR, who went from channel 2 to 5 to 11, pulling the (pre-Fox) ATL network affiliate hat trick, although if you want to be technical both channels 2 and 11 were NBC affiliates at the time of Sharpe's tenure there.

*Note to Radio-Info admins: This has to do with radio because Guy Sharpe hosted an oldies show on WGFS (Covington) after he retired from TV, and is a GRHOF inductee (http://www.grhof.com/GUY SHARPE.htm )

Both Beckman and Sharpe spent time at channel 2 & 11. My records have Johnny at 2 from 1962 to 1982 and that he was at 11 from 82 to 94 and that he was part of several 2 & 5 personalities that channel 11 hired away in the late 70s and early 80s. My records also show Guy at channel 2 from 1957 until 1968, channel 5 from 1968 until 1977 and at channel 11 from 1977 until his retirement in 1996. Chuck Moore and John Pruitt were 2 anchors that 11 threw money at to bring respectability to the news department. Russ spent 4 years at channel 2 before being canned in 1986, i do not know what year Russ started at channel 11 but he did leave 11 when Beckman was brought in.
