Question on WRJW

I havent heard WRJW (am 1320) Picayune in a while at my location (toward the fringe of it's signal).. and was wondering how it faired in the storm and if it was still operating or what?A brand of local mixed with country you don't hear too often anymore in the area I'm at (in neighboring Louisiana) anymoreAlso any word out of other broadcasters along the coast or in Pearl River like WBSL?CuriousRFLA

I don;t know about WRJW, but I can answer your question about WBSL.Although a call palced to the phone number on their FCC Application(s) get's answered saying they're on the air and the FCC/Radio Locator thinks they are.. they aren't! I've had friends in the area check and there's no signal out of them. Also, I have pictures showing their Harris Gates 5 5,000 Watt Transmitter sitting in a trash pile along with other pictures indicating Katrina wiped out their studio and transmitter building, with ABSOLUTELY nothing left standing except the tower. I can dig up the pictures if you want. Drop an email to me at the address below and I'll get them to you!

WRJW is plugging right along. I was there right after the storm and everything looked fine.
