This morning I heard an advertisement paid for by either the State Police, or the State of RI, etc. It was one of those Don't Drink and Drive Ads.
The weird thing was I swear it was Doug Palmieri and it was playing on either 99.7 or 103.7.
Is it common for PSA's to have a real local jock play on a station that their primary employer competes with?
 
Not-for-profits and non-profits that create pre-produced PSAs can hire any talent they want to to be their voice. it's a distinct market-advantage to do so. So yes, it is possible that a recognized talent can appear on another competing station when it airs that PSA.

But stations reserve the right to refuse to air any spot, basically for any reason. So the station could ask to have the spot reproduced with their own talent. <P ID="signature">______________
