Not being in the market, but having read about KESS' rise to the top-rated radio station in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I have a couple of questions:

* How long has KESS been programming a Spanish-language format??

* And if they weren't the first Dallas/Fort Worth-area FM station to broadcast in Spanish, who was and when??

The old KBUY-FM 93.9 was the only Spanish language FM in the Metroplex in the early 70's. That license has of course come full circle as KLNO 94.1.

And, at one point in the late 70's, 93.9 was KESS.

Correct, flipped to those calls in 1976 after KBUY (AM) flipped to KRXV. The KESS calls were also on 1270 after the KSSA incarnation.
