I mentioned this in the other thread I believe, but I'll gladly repeat and add:
In Sebring, FL, there's WJCM 1050 "Cruisin' Oldies." No title/artist given in the songs (no DJs), but they pretty much run 1955-1963 pre-Beatles & they are careful about going outside that. I have heard "Rainy Day Bells" by the Globetrotters (1970), but it fits the sound of WJCM.
Also they have little extras like old TV theme snippets, reminiscences (something like "Do you remember when hamburgers were 15 cents? Another memory from Cruisin' Oldies!"), and the following.....
"Cruisin' Oldies---where you don't have to sit through THIS (plays snippet of a dull song in their opinion), to get to THIS (plays a full song in their rotation)!"
"This is NOT a Cruisin' Oldie....(plays snippet of "Monday Monday" or a similar song outside their rotation)......THIS is a Cruisin' Oldie (plays song in rotation)!"
Fun to hear when we drive thru the area....sounds very AM-like as well.
