QUESTIONABLE LEAD NEWS STORY CHOICES

On the 11PM news last night WSB led with what was mostly a fluffy Tiger Woods-golf piece. The #2 story was the West Virigina mine disaster (which I considered to be the top story of the day). I've seen this happen often at WSB and other local stations. Can we please get a TOP STORY class going.

Which is the lead story......

Plane passengers sit for 6 hours waiting to take off at the airport
Three people shot outside a local Walmart

Some con cheated an elderly lady out of $2000
500 teachers to be laid off

The Governor plays golf in Marietta
Flooding expected in Conyers

Pollen count goes way up
Large fire at the Georgia Dome
 
If I was editing, (something I was at one time paid to do), the lead in the Channel 2 cast would have been the West Virginia mine disaster. As for your other choices, "large fire at the Georgia Dome," followed by "flooding in Conyers."
