questions about channel 21 in Dallas

I'm new to this board, so I appologize if this has already been discussed before. Can someone please tell me what 21 is going to do when the big changes take place? I heard something about news from 7:00-9:00 PM, but I don't know anymore about that. If someone knows, I would appreciate an explaination.

KTXA will have a 2 hour prime time newscast from 7pm-9pm 7 nights a week. It will be pre-empted for high school football on some Friday nights and for Dallas Mavericks basketball.

The station has been busy hiring staff for the show. It will mostly have a different on air staff from sister station KTVT.

My understanding is that the news show will debut on Sept. 18th - the first day without UPN programming.

Ya know, it seems like every other state can show the games on a friday night, but the dang Texas UIL has to stick their nose into everything. Id like to be able to see the games on friday nights, would also turn 21 a decent profit as well.

KTXA says they're going to start broadcasting high school football games on a regular basis. I doubt it would be Saturday afternoon since that would compete with college football. If they can't do it on a Friday night (a rule I've never heard before) they'll do it on Thursday nights (just like ESPN has done on a few occasions)

They showed last Friday's Plano-Mesquite game the next day (Saturday afternoon)...

Tried to find the rule on the UIL website about a "black out" on televising Texas high school football games on Friday night. And I coudn't. So.... I say it doesn't exist unless someone can prove me wrong with official documentation. (not that a delicate flower like me really cares about football...)

Speaking of TXA 21, are they going to run the "Remastered" Star Trek eps in both standard and hi-def? Hopefully not late at night, as they have PLENTY of free space now since UPN is leaving.

Our local TV Station carries high school games on Sarurday afternoons. The way I understand the UIL rule is that you cant carry them live dont know of any rule where you cant play them tape delayed friday night
