Questions About News Network Feeds during the 1970's and 80's



GTE had a problem admitting that their circuits were anything less than "class A."

GTE = Great Telephone Experiment! :) BUT I will admit, I had good results working with them in my area (Texas)....One local manager gave me a LOT of test numbers that were internal use ONLY....and were good anywhere in ANY GTE territory....nice of them to do that....AT&T would often use different numbers depending on the CO...(though in MOST of Houston, xxx-1499 was the 1kHz milliwatt test tone...and xxx-1599 was quiet termination)
