Questions about Tune-In Android App

Tune-In app for Android used to be great, now I accidently got an automatic update with a horrible new interface and I can't get the old version back - can I?
Also, I noticed that all the local Clear Channel AND Cumulus stations show up on their list, but there is no 'play button' - so are they 'gone' from Tune-In and you are now forced to give your life history to CCM+E and put an iHeart app in addition to Tune-In, or am I missing something?
Thanks,
J

No, you can't get the old version back.
Yes, you'll need iHeartradio to listen to those stations. Get a throw away email address to register. No life history. Sex, birthdate and zip code. Tell them whatever you want but it will affect the ads you see.
If you want, you can disable auto-update. Bo to Google Play > Settings > Auto-update apps. Apps that have updates available will be listed first on your list of My Apps > Installed. You can update manually (but not go back).

You can always do a Google search for "TuneIn radio apk", find an older version and download, then install over the current version (which I think is 12.1). Or if you ever backup your apps, go in and install that version.

Another option is the Denon music player app, which just so happens to have TuneIn on it.

I'm not crazy about the new interface either. They're trying to turn it into Facebook. And to answer your other question, Clear Channel and Cumulus do not allow playing of their stations via the TuneIn app. You can do a workaround if you know the direct stream URL and add it to your account via TuneIn's website. But it is a bit of a pain. Besides, IHeart is more stable and has a better interface than TuneIn anyway. So you'll have to keep both apps on your phone.
