Questions for RadioEngnr @ WRRK

Is 96.9 Bob-FM going to keep the call letters WRRK or will they be changing soon?

Exactly how large is the new playlist? I was under the assumption that the Variety Hits format included thousands of songs. Why am I hearing constant repeats already? I'm not complaining, I'm one in favor of this switch and I hope it does well. But from what I read on this board, I thought no repeats were to be heard in over a week...

Oh, and am I correct in assuming BOB has a big ole crush on Gwen Stefani? I mean, I like her as much as the next person, but damn there's a lot of Gwen/No Doubt on there.

LOL Yeah it's the same No Doubt songs over and over and over... Same With Pink, Michelle Branch, etc. So where's the THOUSANDS of songs we were hearing about?! What a joke.

Whilst waiting for an answer from Mr. Engnr, you could go to the website below which someone else posted the link to. It lists every song played on WRRK on an hour by hour basis. If you wanted to, you could compile a very comphrensive list from the data on that website.

As for the overexposure of Gwen Stefani, no doubt it has something to do with the fact that her press agent seems to be working double overtime. She's showing up in the women's magazines, the checkout stand tabloids, and the celebrity gossip photo and gossip websites all over the internet. It's almost as if she is being groomed to fill the void in pop culture left by the aging of Madonna.

As for the playlists, I get the impression that they took the 300 songs that dominated each of the various playlists of all of the more narrowly focused formats and smashed them all together.

Question: you mentioned a while back that 96.9 was going digital. I assume it's completed.

If so, Bob-FM on the main channel (I assume it is). What's on the sidebands?

(Not that it matters--I don't have an HD radio...yet. :)

They didn't confirm a delivery date.

and yes your right BobFM will be BobHD. I even have the URL http://www.bobHD.com

Thanks for the help. Are there any special plans for the side channels (96.9.1 or whatever it's called)?

And, am I correct that Lite Rock is already HD (and has been for a couple months), or is the same equipment for 92.9 also on back order?

No Plans as of yet, but WRRK will be multistreaming, one thing we are considering is 5:1 surround sound

WLTJ went Digital back in July, I ordered the Equipment (HD transmitter, HD exciter, HD processing, Digital Importers & Exporters) back in January 2005
I didn't think it would have taken 1/2 a year to receive the equipment

WLTJ will do Multistreaming as well, and is ready for it now. What will be on that stream? thats up to programming

I was talking to the people at Ibiquity Digital a few days ago and we were discussing the consumer end of HD, they said that 2006 will be the time that MP3 Player style HD radios will be released and other portable HD radios

I thought you mentioned that.

Any clue on prices? Table-tops are still hovering in the $300-600 range; I'm guessing the newer technology will be around that, if not more (market forces).
