Hey, Canada!

As dense as this may sound... are the sound trends of imaging and promos comparable to the US counterpart of each format?

What are some of the biggest differences between how the stations are operated (Can-US)?

Lastly, can you please help us get socialized medicine here? C'mon... help a bro out....

Thanks, Chadd

Theese questions are currently difficult to answer, as two of the main players in the Toronto Market have just recently been sold.

There is no more Chum group and no more Standard radio inc.

CHUM FM/AM is now in the hands of CTV television. (they have no history of owning any radio stations)

Mix 999 (CKFM) is now in the hands of ASTRAL media.

I'm not sure if the answer is as simple as looking at how Astral media does things in Quebec, or if change is soon to come.

We'll just have to wait and see...

As for Rogers, yes...cookie cutter is a good word to use...if you wish to use Jack FM (92.5 Toronto) as an example, but keep on mind they recently changed the format of that station too...no more variety hits-it's now a rock station (in the Toronto market only-other Rogers jack fm's are still a good example of a North American cookie cutter...).

This leads us to Corus...I have no comment on Corus at this time.
