Questions on K104 and 94.5

K104 - How is the new morning team doing in the ratings? Where did Buck "Boring" Wild end up?

94.5 - When is the Skip Murphy Morning Team supposed to start? Does that station broadcast from Gainesville? Its signal is often weak.

Thanks, tailgater

KSOC's studios are in the Valley View mall.

I think the K104 morning show is doing o.k.! Just good enough to compete with Rickey Smiley! Buckwild was moved to over nights months ago! KSOC does broadcast from Valley View mall and their transmitter is in Gainesville!

Not really sure when Skip Murphy and company are supposed to start!

No, it's about 20 miles east-southeast of Gainesville, near the town of Ethel. Their tower location is 52 miles north of downtown Dallas.

Skip isn't coming, that's the rumor I heard.

I heard that K104's morning show is beating the mess out of Rickey Smiley.

Well, it look like 94.5 is the long lost brother of Jack FM: A jockless jukebox. Them "for sale" rumors are gaining traction as well.

Hope they paid Skip Murphy and Company well for their apparently short-term gig promoting the format change. Good luck to 94.5. If they are truly going to be jockless all the time it does look like maybe a holding pattern to a sale.

From what I've heard, a sale is actually going to happen.

If Radio One is trying to sell 94.5 any ideas on who wants to buy it. Would it be a wise investment since the new owners can't improve the signal into Southern Dallas County.

Not just 94.5 Salem. I'm hearing 97.9 as well.

I wonder why Radio One would leave this market. Are there stories out there that they are trying to get out of other markets. Wouldn't they be better off trying to stay in top 10 markets.

Perhaps, it's the lack of revenue with only two stations? Also, how much has demographics in Dallas changed since the last census?

Read Dana Hall's article about Radio One.

I guess they could target Texoma And North Texas, forgetting all about Dallas.

So Skip and nem aren't coming back? :(

I was thinking the same thing! I've read that they are coming to 94.5 and it's a done deal, but it would seem that there would be some kind of marketing going on by now!!

From my understanding,94.5 is staying jockless. Just call them "Black Jack FM".

Didn't I hear Kenny J on recently, or am I getting my stations crossed?

I've been listening to SMAC on the internet lately and they sound great. They broadcast from Dallas and they really haven't missed a beat. The chemistry they share is truly special.

Still holding out hope they'll end up back on the radio!
