Questions

I am just curious, can a DJ on a commercial radio station that streams tell how many people are actually streaming his or her broadcast at a giving time?

Is there a website that lists the most streamed radio stations?

I know that the person who operates the Stream Center posts here. Can he tell what stations on his website get the most hits?

Thanks

When a station streams in MP3 or AAC+ audio format using a SHOUTcast server publicly, you can see how many people are connected at:

www.SHOUTcast.com

Toward the right side, look under "Listeners/Max." The first number is the number currently listening. The number after the "/" is the maximum number of listeners the server(s) can currently handle.

SHOUTCast.com also lists stations by popularity - about 10,000 of them.
