Quick overview of June 18-34, 25-54

June Arbitron ratings early look: Star (No. 3 again 25-54), Kiss (up sharply with its more youthful push), Hot (it's that time of year for this station to shine), Wild (keeps on movin' up), Q100 (doing fine against stiffer competition), Atlanta's Greatest Hits (improving steadily in its 70s mode) up; Praise, Fish, Dave (big drop again), Bull (slipping further behind Kicks), Project, WABE (worst book in ages) down. Great month for R&B/hip-hop/pop. Not so good for rock, Christian, news/talk.

More details later.

Which station is being tracked as WWWQ-HD2? That would be 99X, but the ratings page is calling it W250BC (97.9), now Journey. Are there any numbers for WWWQ-HD3 (Journey proper)yet?

Looking at 6+ both River and B98.5 seem to be doing better with their new imagings. What do the money numbers say?

What I would really like to see is a chart plotting Rock 100.5's 25-54 PPM numbers with their format tweaks (90s alt/active in vs. out, 80s hair in vs. out, 60s classic rock in vs. out).

Although some posters feel that Kiss' new musical programming is "boring"; apparently the listeners aren't agreeing with them. I knew it would continue as is with its current UAC programming although Jay Dixon is now out as OM/PD. It'll be interesting to see what CBS does a response with V-103... ;D

WSB News/Talk slipped as expected.

Yeah, the wheels really came off of Dave. Star 94 seems to have picked up men during its Big 90's weekend and kept them during the week. It looks strange that Q100, Star 94 and B98.5 all did well when they target women until you realize men have accounted for some of Star's big upswing.

June Rankers
Men 24-54
WSB
V 103
Hot
Star
Kiss
River

Project 9th
Dave 16th
Rock 16th

Women 25-54
V 103
Q 100
Praise
Kicks
B98
Magic
Star
Kiss

And those 25-54 female rankings are closer than ever before...only 0.4 share points between Star (#7) and Q-100 (#2). That new PD is doing a great job at WSTR.

So if one believes the conventional wisdom that you're never as good as your best book and never as bad as your worst, which do you think Dave is legitimately closer to 25-54, 5th place (where they were a few months ago) or where they are now?

I'm a man and I even love the new Star 94, and I'm not even there yet!
