Quincy WA FM and daytime AM bandscan, 4/3/15

Actually from the Ancient Lakes trails a few miles west of Quincy. Nothing is counted because this is in Grant County - not Yakima County.

Great scan chock full of eastern WA, and some western WA as well. Various locations throughout the trail. Great day to be on the trails!

KSTE is certainly impressive!

In all my years of AMDX, I've had only ONE similar experience. I was in the car on U.S. 59 north of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Western part of the state. It was late July about 12-15 years ago at about 10:30am on my way for a customer lunch meeting. Just doing the usual dial twiddling, when I came across a weak, but perfectly audible WSCR on 670. No other Chicago stations or additional daytime skywave present. Off the top of my head, I'm going to guess that Detroit Lakes is about 600 miles northwest of WSCR's Bloomingdale, IL transmitter location. I had the signal for a little over a half hour....headed north....until the combination of fading and splatter from CJOB/680 took over.
